How it Works

We’re excited to announce our partnership with nutritionist Dr. Bri Bly at Prairie Health to develop a tailored wellness program designed to help our athletes maximize their potential both inside and outside the gym. This comprehensive program will focus on four essential pillars: Sleep, Stress, Nutrition, and Wellness.


By leveraging industry-leading technology, we’ll equip you and our coaches with valuable data to inform your wellness journey. This data-driven approach will enable us to track your progress, make necessary adjustments, and ensure you’re on the right path to achieving your goals.



Our commitment is to provide you with the tools, resources, and support needed for lasting success. Together, we’ll create a holistic plan that empowers you to thrive in every aspect of your life!

The Technology

We will utilize two industry-leading products:

  • InBody Scanner

    The InBody scan is a non-invasive body composition analysis that measures your body’s fat, muscle, and water content. The scan uses electrical currents to generate a detailed report that includes:


    • Weight
    • Total body fat
    • Total body water
    • Total skeletal muscle mass
    • Segmental muscle and fat analysis

    The InBody Scanner will help your coaches implement Dr. Bri’s nutritional guidance based on your wellness goals, allowing us to track changes over time. Athletes will have the opportunity to test once or twice a month.

  • Whoop Band

    The Whoop band is a wearable fitness tracker that monitors your physiological data to enhance your understanding of your health and fitness. Designed to be worn 24/7, it features no screen and tracks a variety of metrics, including:

    • Sleep
    • Strain
    • Recovery
    • Stress
    • Heart rate
    • Respiratory rate
    • Skin temperature
    • Blood oxygen levels
    • Daily activity

    Athletes participating in the BRIK Nutrition Program are encouraged to use the Whoop device. This will allow coaches to monitor your sleep, stress, and strain levels effectively. Whoop makes it easy to share data, providing fascinating insights that we can integrate into our program. Other devices, such as the OURA Ring, are accepted, but Whoop is preferred.

The Pillars

Nutrition

The Nutritional Platform developed by Dr. Bri is designed for CrossFit athletes but is beneficial for anyone seeking to enhance their nutrition. This comprehensive program includes:



  • Nutrient Information: Understand the essentials your body needs.
  • Guidelines: Customized recommendations based on your InBody Scan to help you maintain, lose, or gain weight/muscle.
  • Recipes: A collection of macro-friendly meals that make healthy eating enjoyable and accessible.


Dr. Bri will oversee the program, ensuring our coaches effectively support your goals. For those with specific dietary needs, medications, or medical conditions, we strongly recommend consulting Dr. Bri for personalized guidance. We will be using Cronometer to track macronutrients.

Sleep

Achieving optimal performance begins with adequate rest and recovery. Remember, poor sleep habits can undermine your nutrition efforts. When sleep and nutrition are in sync, your fitness levels will soar.


Our coaches will closely monitor your sleep and recovery using data from Whoop. We’ll provide personalized guidance to help you establish a healthy sleep routine, ensuring you wake up refreshed and ready to tackle your training. Prioritizing sleep is crucial for maximizing performance and overall well-being.

Stress

The Whoop Stress Monitor is an essential tool that tracks stress by measuring heart rate (HR) and heart rate variability (HRV) in real time. It compares these measurements to your baseline HRV and resting HR over the previous 14 days, generating a Stress Score ranging from 0 to 3. The monitor also considers your movement to differentiate between physical exertion and other stressors.


Additionally, Whoop offers a Mental Health feature that provides a monthly analysis of how your mental health relates to recovery and your logged behaviors. This holistic approach helps you understand the interplay between stress, recovery, and overall well-being.



Stress can significantly impact sleep, nutrition, and wellness. Our coaches are here to help you tackle life’s challenges and manage stress effectively. Learning to handle stress in a healthy way will improve your overall well-being and enhance your ability to achieve your fitness goals.

Wellness

Wellness is often the most straightforward pillar to address, especially when focusing on physical wellness. Our athletes excel at getting into the gym and staying active, but it’s essential to find balance. We must ask ourselves: Are we exercising enough? Or are we pushing ourselves too hard?


Setting specific wellness goals can greatly impact our journey in this sport. These goals help guide our efforts and keep us accountable. Our coaches are dedicated to supporting you in staying true to your wellness objectives, providing insights and strategies tailored to your needs.
